The Mayor's Advisory Committee on Renewable Energy (MACRE) was formed by Mayor Stephen Acropolis in 2008 to explore long term savings opportunities for the Township through the use of renewable energy such as solar and wind power. The Committee was instrumental in the Township's solar panel system at the Brick Township Municipal Building, the wind turbine at the Drum Point Sports Complex and the ongoing redevelopment of French's Landfill into a solar field.
