Township Council

The Township Council is the governing body of the township and serves as the legislative branch. As the legislative body, the Township Council plays an integral role in the operations of the government.  Functions of the Council include but are not limited to the review and approval of the Mayor's Annual Budget, the advice and consent of Mayoral appointments, the enacting of Township ordinances and resolutions, the appointment of the Township Clerk and appointments to the Brick Township Municipal Utility and Housing Authorities.

The Township Council approves all expenditures by the township.

    John G. Ducey is a homeowner and a business owner in Brick. He lives with his wife, Deirdre, and his son Jack. His law office is located on Herbertsville Road in Brick.

  • James Fozman

    James Fozman

    Email Councilman Fozman

    Jim Fozman currently serves as a first term Councilman. He also serves as Chairman of the Public Works, Redevelopment and Cable TV Policy Committees, as well as a member or liaison of several others. Jim served as Chairman of the Business and Finance Committee in 2012. He also serves as a Commissioner on the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority.

The Township Council works through the committee system to address the varied needs of our community.  Council Committees consist of three members of the Council who work on issues in each committee's respective areas of concern and then bring recommended actions to the entire council. The Township Council meets on Tuesday evenings in the Municipal Courtroom at 7pm.  All council meetings are open to the public and the public may comment on any matter.  Council meetings can be viewed on BTV on Thursdays at 8pm, Saturdays at 10am, Sundays at 8pm and Tuesdays at 10am or anytime on the web by clicking here.
