Easement Map

Tax Maps with Easement Line

The Township of Brick has produced a map of all oceanfront lots that will be encumbered by the dune line as established by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The dune line is shown in green and the property lines are in black. If you have questions regarding the dune easements, please feel free to contact the Township’s Department of Community Development at 732-262-1042.

An Adobe file of the Army Corp. Easement Line for the Dune Reconstruction and Beach Nourishment Project is now available.  This is the Adobe file with a PDF extension.  This line represents the western limit of where an easement will be needed, or the landward base of the dune. It is not representative of the top of the dune. Click here to view file.

Private Property Debris Removal and Demolition

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PPDR AND DEMOLITION

FEMA has extended the deadline for municipalities to identify damages and seek participation in PPDR until June 14, 2013.  After that date, requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  If you have not done so, please contact 732-262-1063 if you have questions on PPDR.

As part of Brick Township’s recovery effort, the municipality is determining which residential and commercial property owners affected by Hurricane Sandy are interested in participating in the Private Property Debris Removal (PPDR) program being coordinated between the municipality and FEMA (see accompanying fact sheet and FAQ). If debris from Hurricane Sandy is on your private property and has not been removed you may be eligible for the PPDR program. If you think that your property should be considered for this program please provide the township with the following information:

  • Name of person with legal authority over property
  • Lot and Block number (click here to determine)
  • Street Address
  • Telephone number(s)
  • Email address
  • Approximate date of construction
  • Active or inactive heating oil tank currently on property? If yes, above or below ground?

Email the above information to sandyinformation@twp.brick.nj.us. Please use PPDR in the subject line. Township officials will follow up with more information.

Also a part of Brick Township’s recovery efforts, the municipality is determining which residential property owners affected by Hurricane Sandy are interested in participating in the Demolition program being coordinated between the municipality and FEMA (see accompanying fact sheet and FAQ). If you are considering demolition due to damage from Hurricane Sandy you may be eligible for the demolition program. If you think that your property should be considered for this program please provide the township with the following information:

  • Name of person with legal authority over property
  • Lot and Block number (click here to determine)
  • Street Address

Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

There have been some recent developments of out the Governor's Office of Rebuilding and Recovery (GORR), regarding HMGP 4086 Mitigation funding allocations.  The GORR has identified acquisitions and elevations thus far, as State priority projects.  There are more decisions being made at this point, regarding both HMGP and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding allocations.
All acquisition projects will be run by NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Green Acres program, who will act as the subgrantee for acquisitions.

All elevations will run through NJ Dept. of Community Affairs (NJDCA) State run elevation process (combination of CDBG and HMGP funding).  Please advise all of your respective municipalities who expressed interest in  elevations, to alert residents to contact and register with NJDCA at:

www.sandyhelp.nj.gov

The state has also set up two hotlines:

855-SANDYHM (855-726-3946) for homeowners

855-SANDYBZ (855-726-3929) for business owners

The website and hotlines should answer all homeowner questions regarding elevations.

SBA Assistance

The quickest way to apply for an SBA disaster home or business loan is filling out an online application at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela. SBA is the primary source of federal funds for long-term rebuilding. In most cases, Federal Emergency Management Agency money will not cover all of the repair needs of homeowners. Failure to apply for SBA Assistance could disqualify you from receiving CDBG funding.

By returning the SBA loan application, homeowners may be eligible for up to $200,000 to repair or replace their storm-damaged home. Homeowners and renters may be eligible for up to $40,000 for replacement of personal property such as clothing, furniture, cars and appliances.  There is no obligation to accept an SBA disaster home loan and homeowners and renters may become eligible for additional FEMA grants if they are not approved for a loan.  For businesses and private nonprofit organizations, the SBA may loan up to $2 million to repair or replace storm-damaged property.

Sandy Volunteer Hours Form

This form is for Individual volunteers and volunteer groups/organizations to account for time spent on storm related clean-ups and projects. Filling out this form and submitting it to the contact(s) listed on the sheet may count toward the cost share. In addition, providing the information will help track volunteer hours throughout the state and may help in acquiring grant funding.
