As part of a New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Post Sandy Planning Grant, the Township of Brick has drafted neighborhood plans for those areas that were most impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The purpose of the planning exercise to collect information, analyze existing conditions and make recommendations for design, zoning and neighborhood amenity changes to each flood affected neighborhood in the Township to ultimately improve the quality of life. In addition, these plans will assist the Township in its efforts to obtain additional grant funding to make improvements and to obtain approval as a FEMA National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System community. Obtaining CRS status will ultimately assist residents who have flood insurance by lowering their insurance premiums.
