The Township of Brick, in collaboration with the Brick Township Police Department and the Office of Emergency Management, is committed to keeping residents informed and safe during times of emergencies. Utilizing multiple communication platforms, including text alerts, social media, and the township website, they ensure timely and accurate information reaches the community. These tools provide critical updates on severe weather, road closures, power outages, and other emergency situations. Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for these services to stay informed and take proactive measures to protect themselves and their families.

Resources Used to Keep Residents Informed

Nixle

The Township of Brick, the Brick Township Police Department and Office of Emergency Management have partnered with Nixle to implement a Community Notification System to alert residents in real-time for localized emergency situations and relevant community advisories.

Any resident who wishes to sign up for the service can text BRICKTWP to 888777 from their mobile phones and they are automatically registered.  Once registered, residents will receive a confirmation text to their mobile device. Residents may also customize their alert settings by going to www.nixle.com and creating a User Profile.  Residents can customize what alerts they receive and how they receive them such as SMS, email or voice messages.

Facebook

During times of emergency, Facebook serves as a vital communication tool for Brick Township residents. The Township, Police Department, and Office of Emergency Management use the platform to quickly disseminate real-time updates, including weather alerts, road conditions, and critical safety information. Brick Township utilizes its BTV bulletin board as a key resource for delivering important information to residents during emergencies. BTV broadcasts emergency alerts, critical updates, and vital instructions directly to local televisions, ensuring that residents without access to social media or other digital platforms remain informed. BTV can be found on Comcast (Channel 20) and Verizon Fios (Channel 32).
