Brick Township’s SummerFest presented by Pine Belt Cars will return to Windward Beach Park on June 30 for its 27th edition. This year’s series will feature four concerts and fireworks show as well as several family friendly events.
“SummerFest is truly one of the best summer traditions at the Jersey Shore,” said Mayor John Ducey. “It gives families the opportunity to have a fun and affordable night out, enjoy great music and fireworks and more.”
This year’s concert series will kick-off with the return of Super Trans-Am. This exciting band made their SummerFest debut last year. STA plays the best arena anthems and chart-topping hits of the 70’s while also putting on a great stage show.
The series will continue on July 7 with the SummerFest debut of Stifler’s Mom. Stifler’s Mom plays your favorite music from the 90’s including rock, East & West Coast hip-hop, Pop with R&B, hit TV theme songs, Seattle Grunge and more.
On July 14, The Benjamins will make their first appearance on the SummerFest stage. The Benjamins have been entertaining crowds throughout the nation for over two decades. They have developed a large following through their energetic shows and their unique combination of classic, modern, elegance and edge.
This year’s SummerFest Concert series closes with the Back to the 80’s Show with Jessie’s Girl! Jessie’s Girl is a SummerFest favorite. They perform the greatest hits from the greatest decade of music, complete with costumes, props and more. Throw on your spandex, leg warmers and come enjoy the music of the MTV Decade!
A dazzling fireworks show will follow each concert!
All SummerFest concerts are held at Windward Beach Park and begin approximately 7pm.
In addition to the music and the fireworks, each concert will feature a food court as well as a beer and wine garden for guests ages 21 and over. A valid ID is required to enter the beer and wine garden.
A free shuttle bus service will be available for people wishing to attend SummerFest. Shuttle bus locations are Drum Point Elementary School, Brick Township High School, Brick Memorial High School, Veterans Memorial Middle School and the Fellowship Chapel parking area on Duchess Lane. Shuttle buses begin trips to the park at 5pm and return trips from Windward begin at 8pm. Any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Coolers are permitted at SummerFest. Guests may not bring alcohol into the park. All bags and coolers are subject to search.
In addition to the concerts, there will be several family-friendly events. On August, 2, the Township and the Brick Township Police Department will host the Annual National Night Out Against Crime. This year’s event will be extra special because it will be honoring the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Brick Township Police Department.
On August 4, the Annual SummerFest Car Show returns. This car show has become one of the biggest at the Jersey Shore. Every year, hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles from every era come to Windward Beach. This event is put is a collaboration between the Township and the Time Capsule Cruisers. The cars begin filing into Windward Beach around 5pm for the show. Anyone who wants to participate and show off your car, please call the Cruisers at 609-548-9991.
On August 12, there will be a Drive-In Movie featuring Jungle Cruise. Park your vehicle on the lawn at Windward Beach, turn on your radio and watch this hit movie. There will also be a viewing area in front of the screen. The gates will open to allow parking at 7pm and the movie will begin at dusk.
