The Human Resources Office is responsible for the management of the employees of the Brick Township Municipal Government. The Township of Brick participates in the New Jersey Civil Service System and as such all procedures regarding employment are dictated by New Jersey Civil Service Rules. Other duties of the Human Resources Office include the management of employee health benefits, retiree benefits and insurance issues, the coordination of workplace seminars and education sessions.
Safety and Insurance is a component of the Human Resources Office. Safety and Insurance is responsible for the management of all non-health related insurance policies and programs for the township including workers compensation. The Risk Manager investigates all claims made against the township for incidents involving township property, employees and assets.

PRINCIPAL PAYROLL CLERK – The Township of Brick is seeking a highly motivated and experienced payroll clerk to perform complex clerical work relating to the preparation of payroll. The position entails processing payroll, handling pension changes and inquiries, calculating pay rates and deductions, and maintaining compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and laws.
The candidate must be detail oriented, accurate, self-directed and able to maintain the strictest confidentially. Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Working knowledge of Edmunds software, Microsoft Office and Excel are preferred.
At a minimum, candidates must have 2 years of experience in payroll processing or personnel work.
