The Human Resources Office is responsible for the management of the employees of the Brick Township Municipal Government.  The Township of Brick participates in the New Jersey Civil Service System and as such all procedures regarding employment are dictated by New Jersey Civil Service Rules.  Anyone seeking employment with the Township of Brick should visit the New Jersey Civil Service Commission website to view job postings. Other duties of the Human Resources Office include the management of employee health benefits, retiree benefits and insurance issues, the coordination of workplace seminars and education sessions. Safety and Insurance is a component of the Human Resources Office.  Safety and Insurance is responsible for the management of all non-health related insurance policies and programs for the township including workers compensation.  The Risk Manager investigates all claims made against the township for incidents involving township property, employees and assets. ENTRY-LEVEL CLERICAL – The Township of Brick is seeking applicants for entry-level clerical positions. The successful candidate must be responsible, reliable, and detail oriented. ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR – TOWNSHIP OF BRICK is seeking a full-time Electrical Inspector. Applicants must possess a valid license issued by the State of New Jersey as an ICS electrical inspector.  It is preferred that the applicant possess a HHS electrical inspector’s license, a One and Two Family Mechanical Inspector’s License and an Electrical Subcode Official License. Must have a working knowledge of the adopted electrical Subcode and experience in residential construction. Applicants should understand the code requirements for flood zone construction for both new construction and the rehabilitation of existing structures.  Applicants should also have a working knowledge of typical Microsoft computer software programs. TAX ASSESSOR – The Township of Brick is seeking a highly motivated and experienced full-time municipal tax assessor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: establishing assessments for local improvements, maintaining assessment records, maintaining current tax maps, preparing 200-foot lists, processing applications for deductions and recording all changes in the township. This position supervises all employees in the Tax Assessor division.

The candidate must be detail oriented, accurate, self-directed and able to maintain the strictest confidentiality when necessary.  Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Familiarity with BRT Technologies, Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.

A minimum of five years of experience in a municipal Tax Assessor’s Office is required. Experience assessing or appraising residential and commercial property is required. Experience with defense of appeals and the electronic tax appeal system is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. A current, valid Tax Assessor’s certificate required. A current, valid NJ Driver’s License also required.

The Township of Brick is currently seeking applicants for the following positions:

CAMP COUNSELOR: Camp operates from June 27th to August 2nd. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm – weather permitting. Must be at least 15 years old. There will be a mandatory staff training day. Counselors must comply with all procedures, policies and practices. Counselors are responsible for overseeing campers ages 4-13.  Must be able to supervise a variety of recreational activities. No experience necessary. Starting pay $13.00/hour.

LIFEGUARD: Must be at least 16 years old. Must be able to swim 500 yards and run 1 mile. Applicants must provide doctor’s note and all paperwork prior to tryout. Tryout scheduled for May 11th at 3pm at Brick Beach 3. Training will be provided. Must be available for training prior to season start. Season is Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Starting pay $15.00/hour.

BADGE CHECKER: Must be at least 15 years old. Must be courteous and responsible. No previous experience necessary. From Memorial Day thru Labor Day. Work hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm. Starting pay $13.00/hour.
